Getting Started

  • Getting the App
The Seguro app is available free of charge in the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. If you're reading this on a phone, you can get the app by tapping this link. Otherwise, scan the barcode with your phone to start: Alternatively, tapping a Seguro device that does not have the app installed will display the device control web page. Touch the "Get the App" icon in the top-left corner of the screen to be redirected to the Seguro app store page for your phone.
  • Setting up an account
Note: A cloud account is not needed to use the Seguro 120 temperature data logger. If you're part of an organization that is using an Enterprise Account, your administrator will send you an invitation to the platform. This allows your organization to have an enterprise view of all of the recordings, and easily share recordings and reports. For individual accounts, you can set up an account directly from the app.
    1. Tap the “Cloud Account” button on the home screen, which will display a browser window with the Seguro authentication site.
    2. Tap the “Sign up” link (under the Continue button).
    3. On the signup page, you can choose between using your Google or Apple ID to log in, or creating a sensified.io account with a new email and password. If you choose to use a third-party identity provider (Apple or Google), only your basic profile information (name, email, language preference, and picture) is used.
To set up an account from the device control web page (if the app isn't installed), tap the Seguro device to display the web page, then touch the user icon in the top-right corner to display the menu. Tap the "Login / Signup" menu item, and follow the steps above.
  • Connecting to a device (Android)
Once the Seguro app is installed, simply touch the Seguro device to the back of the phone (usually near the top or middle of the phone). If the Seguro app is installed, it will open automatically, and then display the device screen. If the Seguro app is not installed, the Seguro web page will be displayed, and  you'll have the option to start or stop recordings.
  • Connecting to a device (Apple / iOS)
For recent iPhone models, simply tap the phone on the Seguro device. When the device connects the LED will flash, and the phone will vibrate and/or chirp, depending on your sound settings. The exact location of the NFC reader in the phone may vary somewhat, but it is usually near the top of the phone.  When the notification appears on the phone, touch the notification to open the Seguro app (or web page) and show the device screen. For older models, open the Seguro app, and tap the Connect to Device button on the home screen. A “Ready to Scan” window will appear at the bottom of the screen. Hold the Seguro device next to the back of the phone until the phone beeps and/or vibrates. Once the app recognizes the device, the Device screen will open. The Connect to Device will also work on newer iPhones. Note that the web page control for starting and stopping recordings is not available on older iPhones (10R and older).
  • How Do I?

  • Start a recording
Once you have connected to a Seguro device, you can start a recording by tapping the Start Recording button. The Start Recording screen is displayed, and you can adjust the high and low thresholds, start delay. When all of the options have been selected, tap the Start button to start the recording.
  • End a recording
Stopping a recording that is already in progress is straightforward. After connecting to the device, the current recording will be displayed on the device screen. Tap the Stop Recording button, and the Stop Recording screen will appear. If the thresholds for the recording are not already set, you can set them here before stopping the recording. Tap the Stop button to stop the recording, and the device screen will reappear, with a summary of the recording. If you are not the person who started the recording, that person will get a notification on their mobile device that the recording is complete.
  • Review my recordings
On the mobile app: Tap the Recent Recordings button on the home screen. A list of recordings will appear, most recent first. Completed recordings are colored green, red, or blue (for in-range, too high, or too low, respectively) and incomplete recordings are gray. Tapping on an individual recording displays the recording detail screen, which includes a chart of the trip as well as various statistics and datapoints. If the start or stop location is provided, you can see a detailed map of the location by tapping on the address. On the mobile web page: After you tap a Seguro device and the mobile web page is displayed, touch the "Show Recents" button to show the list of recent recordings. These will include any recordings from your mobile device, as well as any others from your cloud account, if you are logged in. On the portal: You can display all of the recordings associated with your cloud account on the sensified.io portal (https://portal.sensified.io) by clicking the "Recordings" menu item on the left hand menu.
  • Take a snapshot recording
A unique feature of the Seguro temperature monitors is the ability to capture a recording retroactively, without needing to start the recording at the beginning of the shipment. Since the device is recording all the time, you can capture a snapshot of the recording ending at the current time, and beginning up to 2 weeks previous. You can capture a snapshot from either the app device screen, or the recording control web page after tapping a device. The snapshot menu will appear, and you'll have an opportunity to set the title for the recording, and the length of the recording. Tap the Capture button to save the recording. The recording will be available immediately in both the Recent Recordings screen, as well as on the portal if you're logged in to your cloud account.
  • Troubleshooting

  • I tap the device with my phone, but nothing happens.
This is the most common issue new users encounter, but is almost always simple to resolve. First, make sure that you’re tapping the correct part of the phone. Seguro devices use Near-Field Communication, or NFC, to create a secure communication channel with your phone. For Apple phones, the reader is usually at the top of the phone, while for Samsung phones it’s typically in the middle. When you successfully connect, the light on the Seguro device will flash three times, and your phone will typically vibrate and chirp. For older iPhones (iPhone 7 to iPhone 10r), You will need to open the Seguro app and touch the “Connect to Device” button. See the section below on older iPhones. If you’ve tried tapping the Seguro device with various parts of your phone without success, NFC may be turned off on your phone. The simplest way to check this is to open the Seguro app. If NFC is disabled, the main screen will show a red NFC icon with a line through it at the bottom of the screen. To turn on NFC, go into the settings, and look for NFC. For recent Android phones, this is under “Connections”. For iPhones 12 and earlier, this is under “Apple Pay”. Note that for iPhone 13 and later, NFC is always on and can’t be disabled. If you can’t get the device tap to work and you can’t find the NFC settings, you may have an old phone. iPhone 6 and earlier, as well as some old Android phones, do not support NFC. Samsung has supported NFC since the Galaxy S3 in 2012. Note that most tablets, including all iPads, do not have NFC capability. You will need a mobile phone to connect to a Seguro device.
  • When I tap the device with my iPhone, I hear a beep and see a notification, but nothing else happens.

You will need to tap the notification with your finger.

On iPhones, you can tap a Seguro device with your phone unlocked and it will show a notification. If the Seguro app is installed, touching the notification will open the Seguro app and show the details of the device. If the Seguro app is not installed, touching the notification will open a web page that will show the details of the device.

  • My iPhone is old, but it’s not that old. I can’t get it to connect.

NFC is available on iPhone 7 and later. However, background NFC scanning wasn’t added until iPhone 10s, which means that if you’re using an iPhone 10r or earlier, you’ll need to open the Seguro app and start scanning manually by touching the big “Connect to Device” button in the middle of the screen. A “Ready to Scan” window will pop up, and you can tap the Seguro device to connect.

    PDF Reports

With a cloud account, you can generate PDF reports of shipments and other recordings, to distribute to customers or other team members, or the retain for future reference.

PDF reports for recordings contain all of the important information related to the recording, as well as photos, starting and ending locations, and stop-by-stop shipment tracking with temperature.
